Notes from Baltimore Humane Society

This week’s major focus is on our special groups of pets looking for loving homes.  The first group is our Candy Corn Calicos.  Due to popular demand, we extended our special on this sweet group of felines through the month of November.  Take a look at their adorable faces and see which one you’d like to curl up with and help warm your autumn.  You’ll get 50% off the adoption fee through November 30^th.

November is what we call “Pitember” at Baltimore Humane Society.  You‘ve got to take a look at our fun group of bully breeds dressing up for Halloween.  The adoption fee for all of our Pitember canines will be reduced by 50% over the entire month!!  Of course, potential adopters must meet our regular adoption requirements and consent to a home visit.

S.O.S.  Save our Seniors!  It’s Adopt a Senor Pet Month and I’d like to introduce you to our two Seniors of the Month, Cody and Marble. They, along with many of our seniors are often overlooked for younger dogs and cats.  That’s a shame because seniors can make the best companions, needing much less exercise than a younger pet. They also come "ready-made" -- trained and housebroken.  Adoption fees for our seniors, age seven and up, are greatly reduced.  For cats the fee is only $25 and for dogs the fee is $100.   If you prefer to adopt a younger pet and you're a senior age 65 and over you are entitled to our Senior Discount of 50% off adoption fees.  (the two discounts cannot be combined.)  And I’m especially excited to report that a wonderful sponsor has offered to pay for the entire adoption fee of the first three senior adoption applications!  That means you’re entire adoption fee will be waived if you are among the first three applications for a senior dog.  So hurry in and meet our mature friends. 

The Baltimore Humane Society, a no-kill animal shelter, is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1927.  Nor is it affiliated with any national humane societies or animal welfare organizations.  Nor does it receive any funding from the government.  BHS depends on generous donations from individuals, corporations and foundations in order to continue its day-to-day operations and properly care for the animals at the shelter.
