Joe Flacco Teams up with the Baltimore Humane Society

Joe Flacco has teamed up with Baltimore Humane Society and you can win some great prizes by entering a Giveaway Contest!

Baltimore Humane Society has just launched a new animal rescue campaign featuring Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco. You may have seen the billboards featuring Joe and an adoptable puppy around town.ย  There are two billboards along the Reisterstown Road corridor โ€“ one on Painters Mill and one across from Cherryvale Shopping Center.ย  There is another by York Road on Timonium Road and a larger one on the Jones Falls Expressway facing north near 28th Street.ย

To kick off our awareness campaign, we are giving away eight Joe Flacco autographed prizes -- a football, jersey, photographs, Ravens dog water dishes, Ravens dog t-shirts and dog toys -- all signed by the Ravens quarterback. People can either enter the contest on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/bmorehumane) or visit the shelter.

An official NFL football and authentic NFL Raven Jersey will be raffled off to people visiting the shelter and the remaining prizes will be given to Facebook fans. You can enter both on Facebook and on location at the Baltimore Humane Society on 1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown.ย  That way, youโ€™ll be eligible to win something from both sets of prizes.

We are also asking people to share pictures of their pets in the Ravens spirit by emailing purple-spirit@bmorehumane.org. ย Select photos will be shared on the Bmore Humane Facebook page. Come take a look at some of them. Theyโ€™re really fun!

The focus of the Team Up with Joe and Bmore Humane Giveaway is to encourage Marylanders to team up with the Baltimore Humane Society to adopt, volunteer or donate to the areaโ€™s only no-kill shelter. ย It is important for the community to understand that we are not connected to any national humane societies or any local government.ย  We survive solely on donations and fundraising events along with a small trust set up by our founder, Elsie Seeger Barton.ย

The Baltimore Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter founded in 1927 by Mrs. Elsie Seeger Barton.ย  As a privately funded non-profit organization, we receive no funding from the county, city, or federal governments, or any national humane society organization. In addition to the care of dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals it also offers low cost veterinary care to the public and a pet cemetery with grief support services. To support animal care operations, BHS depends on the income from fundraising events, and donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations in order to continue its day-to-day operations and properly care for the animals at the shelter.ย  Baltimore Humane Society is a proud member of Baltimore Animal Welfare Association with the Baltimore SPCA and BARCS (Baltimore Animal Rescue Care Shelter.)ย  For more information about BHS, and how you can contribute, volunteer, adopt, or foster, please visit http://www.bmorehumane.org or call 410-833-8848, or text the word โ€œPAWโ€ to 80000 to donate.
