Welcome to the Show

The Franklin High School Music Department is very happy to be a new part of the Patch.com family with our blog on all things music, both Franklin and otherwise. Through our blogs, we hope to keep everyone informed about what is going on at Franklin High School and outside the school with FHS musicians. We also might occasionally find ourselves getting a bit off topic and sharing our thoughts on other aspects of music from the world around us.

To start off, the Franklin Jazz Band has two gigs this very week - Thursday night at the FHS Art Show and also Saturday night at the FHS Senior Citizen's Prom. Both of these events have a long standing tradition at Franklin High and are certainly worth checking out. If you are interested in coming to the Art Show, contact the school for exact details (410-887-1119). If you are interested in the Senior Citizen's Prom - first off, you need to be a senior citizen - just call the school to get yourself on the guest list, the event is free!

And, if you don't know already, Franklin now has a very active Music Boosters organization  (http://sites.google.com/site/fhsmusicboostersclub/) and they will be meeting on Thursday night as well, at 7pm in room 42 at FHS. So, you could come hear about what the Boosters are working on and then check out some quality student artwork and hear the Jazz Band. Sounds like a pretty decent Thursday evening to me!
