Burglar Tried Prying Open Owings Mills Target On Christmas: BCPD

A New Year's Day burglary attempt, pizza delivery driver robbed of car and other crimes were reported in Owings Mills and Reisterstown.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — Here are the most recent crime reports out of the Franklin precinct. Arrests do not indicate convictions. The offenses reported in the past month include failed robbery attempts including one at a Sunoco gas pump and another on Lakeside Boulevard.

There was a failed burglary attempt in the 11200 block of Reisterstown Road one minute into the New Year in Owings Mills. The suspect tried to break the glass window on the back door but was unable to do so at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday.

A gaming console was stolen from a home in the 12300 block of Boncrest Drive at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday. The burglar got in through an unlocked door.

One person was arrested after turning the front door knobs of multiple homes in the unit block of Meriam Court. The burglary attempts happened after 11 p.m. on Dec. 26 or Dec. 27.

A bicycle was stolen from the garage attached to a residence in the 11500 block of Saint Davids Lane. The burglary happened at 10 p.m. on Dec. 25, and there was no forced entry into the home.

There was a failed burglary attempt on Christmas Day at the Target in the 11200 block of Reisterstown Road. The attempt happened around 4:30 a.m. and involved a pry bar.

Someone verbally abused and physically assaulted another person in the 9400 block of Common Brook Road. The two knew one another. The second-degree assault was reported at 7:51 p.m. on Dec. 21.

Electronics were stolen from a storage unit in the 10500 block of Red Run Boulevard between Nov. 5 and Dec. 21.

A pharmacy was robbed at gunpoint in the 9400 block of Common Brook Road. The armed robber went into the pharmacy, showed a handgun and took pharmaceuticals at 5:51 p.m. on Dec. 21.

Electronics were stolen from the unit block of Lower Gate Court. The burglar forced open the front door between 7:15 a.m. and 7:10 p.m. on Dec. 19.

A person inside a car was robbed at gunpoint in the 9700 block of Mill Centre Drive. There were two suspects, one of whom went into the vehicle and while discussing fare, showed a silver handgun. The suspects took the victim's cell phone and cash. The armed robbery happened at 12:12 a.m. on Dec. 19.

There was a robbery at 3:55 a.m. on Daphne Court at Deana Circle, where two people met and one implied having a weapon, demanded money then ran off with the cash.

A pizza delivery person was robbed at gunpoint in the 9200 block of Christo Court at 8:57 p.m. on Dec. 12. The suspect took the victim's car keys and vehicle.

Someone tried to rob a pedestrian at gunpoint in the 9200 block of Lakeside Boulevard. Initially the suspect demanded money and the pedestrian's purse and when the victim refused, the suspect go out a firearm, then demanded money and a sex act. At that point, the victim ran away. The attempted robbery happened at 8:40 p.m. on Dec. 12.

There was a robbery attempt at the Sunoco in the 10800 block of Reisterstown Road. A suspect who implied having a handgun went up to someone at the gas pumps at the business in the 10800 block of Reisterstown Road and demanded money. The suspect and victim went into the store, where the victim was to withdraw money from the ATM, but the suspect left before getting any money. The attempted robbery happened at 5:20 a.m. on Dec. 12.

Power tools were stolen from a storage unit at an apartment in the unit block of Richmar Road. The burglar got into one storage unit through another that had been left unlocked between Dec. 3 and 7.

Someone was assaulted and robbed by several strangers who took the victim's phone between Nov. 10 and Dec. 7 in the 11700 block of Reisterstown Road.

At 2:20 p.m. on Dec. 5, five people armed with a weapon approached a person in the unit block of Old Tollgate Road and asked for the individual's cell phone. The victim gave them the phone, and the robbers left.

A man was robbed by five people who acted like they were armed when they approached him in the unit block of Tollgate Road and asked for his phone. The robbery happened at 2:10 p.m. on Dec. 5, and after the victim handed over his cell phone, the group ran away.

Cash and electronics were stolen from a store in the 11700 block of Reisterstown Road after the burglar got in through an unlocked door at 2:38 am. on Dec.4.

One person was arrested after a smash-and-grab burglary in the 11600 block of Reisterstown Road, where a register was stolen. The burglar smashed the front-door glass to get in, then moved the register outside. Police said the suspect was taken into custody after returning to get a second register around 2:50 a.m. on Dec. 3.

A TV was stolen from the 4300 block of Meadow Mills Road in a burglary at 10:35 a.m. on Dec. 3.
