Captain at PCRC Meeting: PNC Bank Robbed on V-Day, Domino's Incident Probably Related to Others

A wealth of information, from crime reports to identity theft prevention tips, was shared at the Police Community Relations Council meeting Tuesday at the Franklin precinct.
In crime news, the PNC Bank location at in New Town was robbed at gunpoint on Valentine's Day, said Capt. Matt McElwee, commander of . The perpetrators stole cash and fled. Coincidentally, air support was grounded during the time of the robbery due to restricted air space regulations for Monday morning, which somewhat weakened the response to the incident, McElwee said.
Some suspects also robbed Oriole Pizza at 8519 Liberty Road in Randallstown on Feb. 8, at , McElwee said. The incidents are probably related to about 10 other robberies across Baltimore County, he said.
Officer Robin Brock, who has been assigned to for the last 11 years, gave a comprehensive presentation on identity theft and how citizens can protect themselves from it — or deal with it once its happened. (Check back for a list of tips).
The group approved a motion to fund $75 toward an instructor program for Officer Brock. It also approved $650 in funding for a Franklin officer to attend the 6th annual law enforcement training conference.
In calendar items, Office of the Year 2010 will be announced in May, and Public Safety Day will be sometime in September at the Hunt Valley Town Center, said Director Sue Kessler.
