BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A child was injured Sunday night in what police said may have been a domestic-related shooting. The victim is expected to survive, officials said.

After a brief chase, police said the suspect was arrested and a gun recovered.

Officers had been called just after 7 p.m. to a reported shooting that injured a child in the 3500 block of Derby Shire Circle.

Police said the child, who was found inside a residence with a laceration that may have been caused by gunfire, was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The Baltimore County Police Department's violent crimes unit is investigating the incident.
