Worker Died from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning: Police
Carbon monoxide was at lethal levels in Woodlawn home under renovation, Baltimore County police reported.

A construction worker in Woodlawn has died from carbon monoxide poisoning, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
Broca Celaya Gerardo, 55, of the 3900 block of Parkview Avenue, stayed late Tuesday night to work on a house that was under renovation, police reported.

Gerardo’s coworkers left at 6 p.m. on Tuesday and when they returned Wednesday morning, he was unresponsive in the basement, according to the report.
At 9 a.m. on Wednesday, police and fire personnel responded to the home in the 7300 block of Windsor Mill Road, officials said. The firefighters’ gas meters immediately went off when they entered the home, meaning there were lethal levels of carbon monoxide gas, according to officials.

Authorities reported that a gas-powered generator may have been the source.
The house did not have carbon monoxide alarms, possibly because it was under renovation, police said.
