Off-Duty Trooper Charged In Road Rage Case On I-695: Police
Police said that an off-duty Maryland state trooper pulled a gun on two people in a road rage incident on Sunday in Baltimore County.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — An off-duty trooper with Maryland State Police has been charged in a road rage incident on Interstate 695 that happened on St. Patrick's Day, officials said. He is accused of pointing a handgun at a man and woman on the outer loop near Liberty Road.
Zachary Tyler Bowen, 28, of the 300 block of Leyton Road in Reisterstown, has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Police said the charges stemmed from an incident on I-695 near the Liberty Road exit that happened before 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 17.

The man driving the couple's vehicle had changed lanes on the outer loop, officials said, and afterward, a Volkswagen Jetta came up beside them. Police said the Jetta driver pointed a handgun at them.
The victims provided information that authorities said assisted detectives in identifying Bowen as the suspect. Police said the man, who was a trooper with Maryland State Police, was arrested at his home in Reisterstown.

Bowen was charged and released on his own recognizance on Monday, March 18, court records show.
