Owings Mills Editor Diana Soliwon was accepted to Baltimore County’s 30th Citizens Police Academy, an annual 16-week program designed to give residents a first-hand look at what police work is all about, and about her experience after each week's class. The first class covered the rule book.

The Baltimore County Council has named the five members of the commission that will guide the redistricting of the county's seven council districts later this spring.

A proposed change in the pension system will affect only one firefighter: Mark Falkenhan, in January. The measure would provide a pension death benefit to volunteer firefighters who were previously employed by the county and who meet other specific criteria.
