OWINGS MILLS, MD — Grain & Berry, a fast-casual restaurant chain that specializes in Acai bowls, smoothies and other dishes rich in superfoods, recently announced plans to open its first location in Baltimore County.

Franchise development group Lolli and Pop Fruit Oasis recently signed a lease to open the eatery in a retail center located at 11054 Red Run Blvd. in Owings Mills. Owner William Chaney said he hopes to open the location before summer.

Florida-based Grain & Berry is known for its selection of menu items, including cold-pressed juices, flatbreads, parfaits, quesadillas, salads and wraps.

The location will also offer vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options.

In a news release announcing the eatery's opening, Chaney said he has sampled bowls and smoothies in countless locations worldwide, but after trying products at a Grain & Berry in Florida, he now "compares every product to its unique presentation and taste."

Chaney said he has plans to open at least two additional Grain & Berry locations in the county.
