It is legal for Baltimore County residents to use some handheld and ground-based sparklers, but other fireworks are prohibited, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

• The Greater Jacksonville Independence Celebration will include a fireworks show on Saturday, June 27. Join 1,000 to 2,000 people on the athletic fields at Jacksonville Elementary, 3400 Hillendale Heights Rd., Phoenix, MD 21131.
• The Plant-Powered Meat Month Kickoff Party on Zoom will allow people to celebrate their independence from meat by sharing recipes and documentaries at this event hosted by Baltimore-based BotaniCuisine. It's from 6 to 7 p.m. on July 3.
• Ladew Topiary Gardens is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 4 for those who want to scope out the gardens, nature walk and manor house in Monkton.
• The Support Our Police Rally will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on July 4 in Towson. The Roosevelt Republican Club and 7th District Civic Council of Baltimore County are sponsoring this event, outside the Baltimore County Police Department near Joppa at Providence roads.
• Bike and Brunch Tour: Baltimore Harbor to the Heights takes participants on a tour of the Black Arts District in Charm City. It's from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 4.
