Franklin High's Variety Show Showcases Local Talent Saturday

The school's 19th Annual Variety Show this weekend features performances ranging from music to martial arts.

Where can you find an 80-year-old singer, a Chinese martial arts performance and a violin duet? At , of course!

Saturday’s variety show, which benefits the school’s PTSA, features a mix of student and community performers.

“We have singers, dancers, some tap, some hip-hop, we have people playing piano, guitars…” said Gail Schuman, one of the event’s organizers.

Four Franklin High alumni judged 47 auditions to choose the 22 performers, she said.

Two Franklin teachers will host the event and the school’s jazz ensemble will perform during intermission.

’s variety show starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance or at the door.
