Hall of Fame Calls on Humbled Garrison Athletics Director
Garrison Forest School's Traci Davis was inducted in the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in October.

Traci Davis said she never played lacrosse to be inducted into the Hall of Fame; she just liked competing with her teammates and friends.
But she wound up there anyway, as the former All-American was inducted in the 53rd class of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame during an October ceremony in Hunt Valley. She was one of 83 women to be inducted in the history of the Hall of Fame, which includes 374 members.
Davis, who starred at St. Paul's School for Girls, Ursinus College and eventually as a member of the U.S. women's national team, has been athletics director at in Owings Mills since 2005.

"When I was notified about it, it was very humbling," Davis said. "The sports community here, the lacrosse community in particular, is special."
She has also coached the field hockey team at Garrison Forest for 12 seasons, and led them to a championship last weekend.

It's safe to say Davis has had a pretty good couple of weeks.
And while she may have had an inkling the field hockey championship could be coming -- Garrison Forest has won two straight titles -- the Hall of Fame induction came as a surprise.
"It was really something. All the lead up to it was really exciting," Davis said. "I played and loved playing, so this was never something I hoped for, or dreamt of.
"It's icing on the cake I didn’t even order."
