Har Sinai Congregation recognizes High Holy Days
High Holy Days services open to the public

Har Sinai Congregation will hold several services during the High Holy Days that will be open to the public.
Selichot will take place the Saturday night before Rosh Hashanah, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m., and consist of a series of penitential Jewish prayers in preparation for the High Holy Days. Har Sinai Congregation will hold a joint service with Temple Emanuel at 909 Berrymans Lane in Reisterstown, Md., followed by a dessert reception.
Har Sinai Congregation will observe Tashlich with a family picnic Thursday, Sept. 25, starting at 4 p.m. at Meadowood Regional Park followed by a service at 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Falls and Joppa roads. Rabbi Benjamin Sharff will address Rosh Hashanah themes of forgiveness and renewal, leading participants in casting breadcrumbs into a stream to symbolize the forgiveness of sins. Families attending the picnic should bring their own food.

The following day, Har Sinai Congregation will hold a second-day Rosh Hashanah morning service Friday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. at the synagogue at 2905 Walnut Ave. in Owings Mills, Md.
