The Harbour School is a Top Workplace for 2015

The Harbour School was named a Top Workplace for 2015 with special recognition.

The Harbour School was named as a 2015 Top Workplace by The Baltimore Sun Media Group. This recognition is a result of an employee survey of the staff at both of the school’s campuses, Annapolis and Baltimore. The Harbour School employs 185 staff members between the two campuses. They received special recognition last night at a reception at The Hippodrome. In addition to ranking in the top 10 (#7) for mid size employers, the school was awarded for having the best benefits of all employers. The Harbour School provided excellent health care coverage, a retirement plan, a masters program and more for its staff. Over 50 staff members have been employed at Harbour for 10 years or more. As quoted in the Baltimore Sun Top Workplaces magazine, one employee stated “My job is not a job; I make a difference in a child’s life on a daily basis. The staff I work with are not co-workers; they are family.”

In 1982, Dr. Linda J. Jacobs started the school to provide special education services for students who needed a smaller classroom environment and more individualized instruction. Today, The Harbour School educates over 325 students at two campuses and over 90.4% of their graduates are either in post secondary education or employed.
