J. Melvin Scott, 57, of Reisterstown

J. Melvin Scott, 57, of Reisterstown, died suddenly Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at his home.

Born Dec. 7, 1958, in Baltimore County, he was the son of the late H. James and Ruth Emma Anderson Scott. Mel worked in construction as a dryvit mechanic. Years ago he was a butcher at Stones Grocery. He enjoyed fishing, sports and music.

Mel had a special place in his heart for family and friends and was a truly great guy.

Surviving are siblings Lois, Jimmy, Kenny, Larry, Doris, Janet and Carol; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend Ellen Burkhardt.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. The family can be contacted for further information.
