James Clifton Unkart, 97, of Reisterstown, passed away on Oct. 31, 2016.
Born Nov. 17, 1918, in Reisterstown, he was the son of the late Earnest and Lena (nee, Gauss) Unkart and the husband of the late Dorthy Louise Unkart. He was one of nine sons.
James served in the U.S. Army during WWII and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He was also an escort for President Harry Truman towards the end of the war. His very first job was as a weaver where he worked at various clothing mills around the Liberty Lake area. After that, James went to work for Westinghouse until he retired at the age of 62James resided at the farm on Deer Park Road for over 50 years.

Surviving are his son, John Unkart; and daughter, Judy Lynn Unkart; four grandchildren: Jerry, Tammy, Jay, and Michael Unkart and three great-grandchildren: Bailey, Sarah, and Colby.In addition to his beloved wife, James is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy and daughter, Janice Jane Unkart.
A visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Eline Funeral Home, 2901 Bloom Rd, Finksburg, MD. A service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
