Joe Flacco Buys Christmas Tree in Owings Mills

OWINGS MILLS, MD — Before leading Baltimore to a 38-6 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco scored points for shopping local in Owings Mills.

Flacco and his family stopped by the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company to pick up their Christmas tree, the fire company reported Saturday.

The quarterback and one of his three sons posed for a picture outside the Greenspring Avenue fire station with a member.

"Thanks to Baltimore Ravens Joe Flacco for stopping by our firehouse with his family to purchase a Christmas tree! Whether you have a Super Bowl ring or not, please come by and support the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company 500! (Notice Joe and his son's matching shoes)," the fire company posted on its Facebook page.

The firehouse is close to home for Flacco, who lives with wife Dana, their three boys and baby girl in Reisterstown.

Proceeds from the tree sales benefit Chestnut Ridge, a volunteer fire company whose coverage area includes parts of western Baltimore County.

The Christmas tree sale accounts for 20 percent of the fire company's annual donations, according to WJZ, which reported more than 200 trees are available, ranging from $35 to $90, including large ones up to 12 feet and a special kind of tree for people allergic to pine.

Will Flacco spend much time under the tree on Christmas Day?

Probably not. On Dec. 25, he and the Ravens will be on the road in hopes of the best present — a Christmas Day win over AFC rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers.
