Local Music and Art Aplenty on Memorial Day Weekend
There's an eclectic variety of music and art events around the region this weekend.

Brew at the Zoo: Saturday and Sunday
Have unlimited samplings of more than 50 beers, enjoy music from six local bands, including Old Man Brown and the Kelly Bell Band, sample local food and walk around the zoo! The kids can check out the Kid Zone. Music starts at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $45 for adults 21 and over, and $25 for under 21 or designated drivers. Tickets include admission to the zoo, and are $10 off for zoo members.
Sowebo Arts and Music Festival: Sunday
Enjoy music on four stages with more than 35 live bands and DJs, more than 50 art and craft vendors, visual art, food and drinks, non-profits and kids’ activites. Located in the 1100 block of Hollins Street (surrounding the Historic Hollins Market), the FREE festival runs from noon until 8 p.m. Sunday.
Artomatic: Friday, Saturday and Sunday
A collective of 1,300 artists turned this former office building slated for demolition into what they call “DC’s biggest creative event.” The free exhibition at the 11-story building includes visual art, music, performances, film, fashion and more. It is open Fridays and Saturdays from noon until 1 a.m. and Sundays from noon until 5 p.m. It closed Mondays and Tuesday. Artomatic is located at 1851 Bell St. in Crystal City, Arlington, VA.

Fusion Music Festival: Saturday
For fans of rock and heavier music, The Ottobar in Baltimore hosts a variety of alternative, punk and metal acts on Saturday. Doors open at 7 p.m., presale tickets are available for $8, and at the door are $8 for 21 and over and $10 for under 21.
