Reisterstown Shooting Leads To Attempted Murder Charge

Police said a man went to a woman's house in Reisterstown without an invitation, then shot another man.

REISTERSTOWN, MD — A west Baltimore man has been charged with attempted murder and other offenses in connection with a shooting over the weekend in Reisterstown. The crime was categorized as domestic-related and sent one man to the hospital.

Police said Dominique Deangelo Jones, 26, went to a woman's home uninvited in the 400 block of Shirley Manor Road in Reisterstown, where he got into an argument with a man who was already there.

The argument escalated when Jones pulled out a gun and shot the other man before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to officials.

The 37-year-old victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the upper body, police reported.

Officials said the gunman left the scene after the shooting.

Jones, whose address is listed in the 2500 block of West Fairmount Avenue in west Baltimore, was taken into custody Monday, according to court records. He was being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center on the following charges:

  • Attempted first-degree murder
  • Attempted second-degree murder
  • First-degree assault
  • Second-degree assault
  • Possessing a shotgun/rifle while having a mental disorder
  • Using a firearm in a felony crime

Jones is slated to appear July 6 in Baltimore County District Court for a preliminary hearing.
