New Town’s Tucker Sets Steals Record in USA’s Gold Medal Game
Jannah Tucker breaks previous USA steals mark with seven thefts in her squad's 73-40 win over Brazil in the FIBA Americas Championship.

All season long for the Titans, Jannah Tucker made a living off of harassing ball handlers and swooping in to pick of passes.
Now, competing against some of the best her age in the world, the soon-to-be junior is still creating turnovers.
With seven steals in the U.S’s 73-40 drubbing of Brazil in the FIBA Americas championship (June 18 in Mérida Mexico), Tucker broke the previous record of steals in a game, which stood at five.

"It is surreal," Tucker said of winning the gold medal. "It's a great accomplishment, and I'm just proud to represent the USA."
Tucker also contributed with 11 points, five rebounds and five assists as the USA squad is one of three (along with Brazil and Canada) to qualify for the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship in the Netherlands next August.

“I think the game was great,” Tucker said. “We did everything well, offensively and defensively. We played hard, and we knew what we wanted from the start.”
A standout player at New Town, Tucker outperformed over 100 other top athletes from across the country earlier this month to on the USA roster.
