One Airlifted After Tree Swipes Vehicle: Reisterstown VFC

Twice this week, the Reistertown Volunteer Fire Company was called to assist people whose vehicles had collided with trees.

REISTERSTOWN, MD — One person was critically injured when a tree fell atop a vehicle near Reisterstown on Thursday, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. The victim was flown for treatment and was critically injured, officials reported.

Crews were called at 5:48 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, for a report of a person trapped inside a car on Doverly Road at Byerly Road, according to the fire department.

The car had been sideswiped by a tree, the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company reported.

Emergency personnel had rescued the victim by 6:15 p.m., who was taken to the old Boring firehouse, where officials said a helicopter provided transport to the hospital.

It was the second night in a row that the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company said that it responded to a call for a person whose vehicle had collided with a tree.

At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, the fire company reported that it was called after a tree fell on top of a vehicle in another incident, but in that case, the person inside had safely gotten out and was waiting in the vehicle of a passerby when crews arrived.
