Opening Date Set for Owings Mills Wegmans

OWINGS MILLS, MD – In a little more than four months, residents of Owings Mills will have a new place to shop for their groceries.

Wegmans will open Sept. 18 at Foundry Row, according to a news release from the company.

Before it opens, the store is still looking to hire hundreds of employees; it originally announced it was hiring 475 people back in February. It is still seeking 375 people to work at the store, the company said in a statement Monday.

“We’re looking for friendly, outgoing people who take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a team,” Owings Mills Store Manager Matt LePore said in a statement. LePore began as a part-time cashier with Wegmans while in high school and attended college with tuition assistance from the company’s employee scholarship program. “Our training provides the rest, and every position here offers opportunities for career growth.”

In addition to a grocery store, the Owings Mills Wegmans will feature The Burger Bar, a casual restaurant counter where people can order burgers, salads, sandwiches, milkshakes, soups and sides.

The store in Owings Mills will be 109,000 square feet, located at the intersection of Reistertown Road/MD 140 at Painters Mill Roads. It will be the eighth Wegmans in Maryland. Others are in Abingdon, Columbia, Gambrills, Frederick, Germantown, Hunt Valley and Lanham.

The grand opening of the Wegmans at Foundry Row will be at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18. The store is located at Foundry Row, 10100 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.
