Oriole Bird, 2 Chiefs Coming To Owings Mills National Night Out

OWINGS MILLS, MD — Want to take a stand against crime? National Night Out events are happening around Reisterstown, Owings Mills and surrounding communities, sponsored by neighborhood groups and associations.

Recognized the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is a community-building event celebrated in hundreds of neighborhoods across the country. Many communities hold street parties with local law enforcement, and residents turn on their front porch lights to help reduce crime.

Here's where to find events happening in Owings Mills and Reisterstown:

The Owings Mills New Town Community Association is hosting a National Night Out event in Central Park. The following will be in attendance:

• Special guest: Orioles mascot
• Baltimore County Police Captain
• Baltimore County Fire Chief
• Johnny Olszewski Jr.
• Al Redmer

For the kids, there will be a bounce house with slide, balloon artist, 40-foot obstacle course and face painter.

Kona Ice will sell shaved ice, with all proceeds going to the Owings Mills New Town Community Association, organizers say.

Free food samples will be provided by these vendors while supplies last:

• Trader Joe's
• Green Turtle
• Starbucks

• Krispy Kreme

Assorted wines, a special doorbell and other items will be raffled off during National Night out.
