Our Annual Tournament was a huge success! We had over 80 competitors ages 3 and up performing drills, forms and weapons.
The day started with an amazing performance from Gina Ling's Chinese Dance Chamber. Gina's group traveled here from DC to give us a great start to the day.

Next, I was honored to be able to present my father, Douglas Lake, with his certificate of advancement to 6th level Black Belt in the Bando System. This was followed by him presenting me with my 3rd level Black Belt in Bando and the CSA System. In our over 20 years at the JCC we have never had the opportunity to present each other, at the same time, and in front of our students, and advancement.
We then started our competition with our little tigers, ages 3-6, in drills, forms and our youngest Blue Belt, at age 6, competed in weapons. Next, we had our T'ai Chi group from Parkville Senior Center demonstrate the beautiful art of T'ai Chi. We had more amazing competition from groups ages 7-12 then 13 and up.
