Owings Mills Movie Theater to Broadcast Live Election Night Results

OWINGS MILLS, MD — Political junkies can celebrate, or find shoulders to cry on, at the movie theater this coming election night.

AMC Theaters is teaming up with CNN to host election-night parties on Nov. 8 in 25 cities. Each city will have two theaters showing election results —a "red" theater and a "blue" theater.

In the Baltimore metro area, the "red" theater, where supporters of Republican Donald Trump will gather at AMC Owings Mills 17.

The blue theater where supporters of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton will presumably gather will be the AMC Columbia Mall 14.

The election-night event is free and open to AMC Stubs members and up to two guests each. AMC recently relaunched its AMC Stubs program, adding the free tier of AMC Stubs Insider to complement the premium AMC Stubs Premiere. Stubs members may RSVP for either theater in their market, regardless of political affiliation.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. on election night, with the event officially beginning at 7 p.m., when the first polls close.

"The 2016 presidential race has generated record-setting viewing on television and online, and we’re excited to have CNN bring the culmination of the race to the big screen," said Elizabeth Frank, AMC's Executive Vice President and Chief Content & Programming Officer, in a news release.

"On election night, as Americans gather in their communities to watch the conclusion of this historic election, we recognize that Democrats want to cheer with fellow Democrats, and Republicans cheer with fellow Republicans, so we’ve designated 'Blue' and 'Red' theaters in each participating market."

AMC Owings Mills 17 is at 10100 Mill Run Circle, Owings Mills. AMC Columbia Mall 14 is at 10300 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia.
