Owings Mills Town Hall Still On; Future Forums To Be Determined

Officials say town hall meetings in Essex, Catonsville and Towson events will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — The town hall meeting with County Executive Johnny Olszewski where residents can weigh in about the Baltimore County budget continued as planned Wednesday night in Owings Mills.

Going forward, county officials said the town hall meetings would be held on a case-by-case basis. Upcoming town halls are slated for March 18 in Essex, March 24 in Catonsville and March 31 in Towson.

The 4th district town hall was Wednesday, March 11, at Owings Mills High School. Councilman Julian Jones joined the county executive from 6 to 8 p.m. at the forum.

Baltimore County has been making its meetings available online, streaming live on Facebook and Twitter for those who want to tune in remotely.

"We encourage all residents to continue following common-sense health practices by washing hands, covering coughs and staying home if you are sick," officials said in a statement issued Wednesday about the decision to hold the town hall budget forum in Owings Mills. "If residents have concerns about COVID-19 or if you are at an increased risk from the virus, refer to the CDC’s guidance regarding prevention."

Those who cannot attend the town hall meetings in person can email their priorities for the county's budget to JohnnyO@baltimorecountymd.gov.

Baltimore County also released a new online survey so residents have another opportunity to give their input on budget priorities. It is expected to take five minutes to complete.

The town hall meeting is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Owings Mills High School, 142 South Tollgate Road, Owings Mills.

It is the fourth of seven planned around the county, and those after March 11 — in Catonsville, Essex and Towson — will be held on a case-by-case basis.

  • 6–8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Owings Mills High School, 142 South Tollgate Road, Owings Mills; Councilman Julian Jones
  • 6–8 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at CCBC Essex Administration Building, Room 110, 7201 Rossville Boulevard; Council Chair Cathy Bevins
  • 6–8 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at CCBC Catonsville, Center for the Arts, Theater, 360 Campus Drive, Catonsville; Councilman Tom Quirk
