Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle on Liberty Road: Police

Police say a trash truck employee was trying to get on the back of the vehicle when he was hit.

RANDALLSTOWN, MD – A man was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle on Liberty Road Tuesday morning, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

Police said the 7:45 a.m. crash occurred as the man, who was working as a garbage collector, was attempting to get onto the back of the trash truck and was hit by a van.

Officials said the van stayed at the scene, on Liberty Road at Offutt Road.

The 20-year-old victim was taken to Sinai Hospital with injuries that police said were not believed to be life-threatening. The Baltimore County Police Crash Team was investigating.
