Pedestrian Killed in Reisterstown Road Crash: Police
The Baltimore County Police Department said the man was crossing the road in Owings Mills when he was hit.
A Westminster man was killed Thursday while crossing Reisterstown Road, according to police.
Joseph Michael Murphy, 58, of the unit block of Winchester Avenue in Westminster, was crossing Reisterstown Road near Kenmar Avenue at approximately 4:10 p.m. Thursday when he was hit, police said.
Preliminary investigation showed that a 2006 Nissan Altima was headed north on Reisterstown Road in the left turn lane, and Murphy walked into the turn lane while the Altima was traveling, police said.
Murphy was taken to Northwest Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the report.
The Baltimore County Police Crash Team continues to investigate, police said.
