Fatal Crash Near Reisterstown Involved Stolen Vehicle: Police
Police said a man died and a woman was injured in the crash in Baltimore County Wednesday afternoon.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A Hampden man died in a crash near Reisterstown Wednesday afternoon. Police said he crashed a stolen Jeep into a tree on Tufton Avenue, injuring his passenger and killing him.
Ryan Anthony Morgereth, 29, of the 1300 block of West 37th Street, was driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee east on Tufton Avenue when the vehicle went off road and hit a tree head-on, according to officials.
Paramedics pronounced Morgereth deceased at the scene, on Tufton Avenue near Dover Road, around 3:55 p.m., police said.

His passenger was flown by helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. As of Thursday morning, officials said she was in critical condition. Initially after the crash, police asked the public for help identifying her. By Thursday, her identity was confirmed and her family had been notified.
The Jeep was the only vehicle involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Officials said that after the collision, they discovered the Jeep had been reported stolen from Baltimore City.
PREVIOUS REPORT — A helicopter has been called to pick up the victims of a crash in Baltimore County Wednesday afternoon, officials say. Two people were trapped as the result of the serious crash near Reisterstown, according to Baltimore County public safety officials.
The collision occurred in the area of Tufton Avenue at Dover Road, officials said. Crews were dispatched to the scene at 3:54 p.m.
Firefighters were working to rescue the victims as of 4:15 p.m., according to authorities.
A Maryland State Police medevac was on the way to the crash site as of 4:30 p.m. to take the injured to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, officials reported.
Drivers should avoid the area.
