Attempted armed robbery/home invasion
A man with a gun wearing a ski mask and gloves knocked on an apartment door and attempted to force his way in when the victim answered on Monday, April 11. The victim forced the suspect back, closed the door and described him as a black male, 5' 11'', weighing 180 pounds. The incident occurred at the unit block of Maybin Circle in Owings Mills.
Officers responding to the incident smelled marijuana and spotted paraphernalia in the home of the victim, Evan Allen Askew, 25, Lt. Stephen Doarnberger said. Police obtained a search warrant and went on to find 12 pounds of pot, packaging material and $1,781, he said. Askew faces charges that include possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and three possessions of paraphernalia.

He was released on bond Tuesday, according to court records.
First-degree burglaries
An unknown suspect stole a Glock Model 22 40-caliber handgun and a small, grey gun safe after breaking in through the front door of a home at the unit block of Shetland Circle in Reisterstown on Wednesday between 8:50 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.

An unknown suspect stole $2,700 in cash and ransacked an apartment at the 400 block of Valley Meadow Circle in Reisterstown Monday, April 11, between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. after kicking open the front door.
An unknown suspect stole a Dell laptop, a Sony camera, a Kenmore microwave and children's clothing from a storage unit at 222 Mid Pines Court in Owings Mills sometime between 10 a.m. April 4 and 11 a.m. Wednesday. The suspect broke into the unit by prying off the door's hinges.

An unknown suspect stole 200 envelopes, each with $1 inside, from ABIS Direct Marking Solutions, located at 10330 Dolfield Road in Owings Mills, sometime between 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, and 6 a.m. Wednesday. The suspect broke in by prying open a rear door. A security alarm was triggered at 9:25 p.m., but police were not called.

The suspect broke into the laundry room by prying open the door, and stole the coins by prying open the doors to each coin collector.
Fourth-degree burglaries
Damond Anis Wilson of Owings Mills was arrested Monday, April 11, after a victim on the 500 block of Shirley Manor Road in Reisterstown reported that he had confronted someone who was attempting to steal a mountain bike chained to a wall at his residence at 6:28 a.m. The suspect fled and was caught near the scene.
An unknown suspect forced open a shed door and stole a Baja Doodle Bug Mini Bike and two one-gallon cans of gasoline from the 12000 block of Greenspring Avenue in Owings Mills sometime between 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
