Police Blotter: Attempted Murder, Gambling Violations, Truck Up in Smoke

Attempted Murder
A Baltimore man was charged in an attempted first-degree murder on Saturday after an incident at the 300 block of Bentley Park Lane in Reisterstown. Kendall Tyrone Williams, 31, of the 1800 block of W. Baltimore Street in Baltimore, assaulted a female acquaintance and strangled and choked her for 30 seconds between 8:35 a.m. and 8:55 a.m. He was arrested in the area.

Gambling violation
Police arrested three men and one woman for gambling violation charges late Thursday after they unsuccessfully tried to escape from an office building near the Owings Mills Mall. Sharon Windy, Stephen Samuel and David J. Brown, of Owings Mills, and Henry Lawrence of Randallstown were charged after tactical and K-9 units confronted them at 11 p.m. and recovered $1,662 and a poker table.

Second-degree arson
An unknown suspect set a Chevy Silverado pickup truck on fire and left it to burn at about 7 a.m. Sunday at the 12000 block of Bonita Avenue in Owings Mills. Police have been unable to identity the owner due to the severity of the vehicle's destruction and because it did not have tags, Ofc. Jennifer Leppert said.

Grand theft auto
A 2000 Toyota Sienna was reported stolen a little after 2 p.m. Sunday from the 12000 block of Bridlepath Road in Owings Mills. Police have not reported that the vehicle has been recovered.

First-degree burglaries
A warrant has been issued for Michael William Katz, 24, for first-degree burglary charges in an incident on March 25. Sometime between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., police say Katz broke into a friend's house at the 11000 block of Park Heights Avenue in Owings Mills and stole a 10-inch Craftsman miter saw S/N RHX11.

An unknown suspect stole a laptop, camera and cell phone charger valued at $970 after breaking in through the window of a home at the 100 block of Shetland Circle in Reisterstown.

An unknown suspect who may have used an unlocked door to gain entry stole an Acer laptop valued at about $150 from the unit block of Shetland Circle in Reisterstown between 6:15 a.m. and 12 p.m. Monday, April 4.  

An unknown suspect stole about $50 worth of clothing from the living room of a unit block on Deer Lodge Court in Owings Mills between 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on April 2. Police said there were no signs of forced entry. 

Fourth-degree burglaries
An unknown suspect stole copper from the utility yard of an AT&T and T-Mobile signal tower at the 4000 block of Painters Mill Road in Owings Mills sometime between Dec. 31, 2010, and 11:06 a.m. Thursday. 

Police recovered a vehicle by GPS after an unknown suspect stole a Ford F-550 dump truck and various gas-powered lawn equipment from BHK Lawn Maintenance at 13030 Hanover Road in Reisterstown at 10:30 p.m. Thursday. No tools were taken from the vehicle, which was found in Baltimore City. The suspect got away with the truck after he or she loaded it up with equipment, cut the padlock on BHK's entry gate and drove it away, police said.
