Two Dead In I-695 Crash Near Reisterstown Road: Police

Police said two people were killed early Saturday morning when their vehicle crashed into a tree near Reisterstown Road on I-695.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Two people died in a crash on Interstate 695 Saturday morning near Reisterstown Road, according to Maryland State Police. The car went off the road and hit a tree, police said.

At 2:04 a.m., troopers responded to the inner loop of I-695 near MD 140/Reisterstown Road and reported finding a 2017 Hyundai passenger car that had gone off the road and run into a tree.

Two people who were inside both suffered fatal injuries, police said.

Based on the preliminary investigation, authorities said the crash occurred when the driver lost control while switching lanes.

The car had been in the far left lane when the driver tried to cross multiple lanes to get off on the exit for Reisterstown Road, police said. The vehicle lost control, went off the road and hit a tree, according to officials.

There were no witnesses who have come forward, and anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack at 410-780-2700.

Police said the names of the victims are not being released until next of kin have been notified.
