Police Say Patrol Car Was Struck While Responding to Collision

One man having a seizure was transported to Northwest Hospital but no citations were issued in a second incident involving a patrol car.

A Baltimore County police officer's patrol car was struck Tuesday morning while responding to a single-car collision involving a man having a seizure, said Lt. Stephen Doarnberger, assistant commander of .

The man was heading eastbound on Franklin Boulevard toward the I-795 south entrance ramp when his car drifted off the road at 8:44 a.m. A police officer headed west on Franklin Boulevard arrived at 8:53 a.m. and was struck by another car while making the turn, Lt. Doarnberger said.

The man having the seizure was transported to Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, he said.

The second incident was not serious and did not produce any injuries. The second car "nudged" the patrol car, and no citation was issued, Lt. Doarnberger said. A separate officer responded to the single-car fender-bender.

The emergency lights were on in the patrol car that was struck, he said.
