Police: Skeletal Remains Found in Owings Mills

The Baltimore County Police Department reports it is not yet clear whether the remains are human.

Hikers found skeletal remains in Owings Mills Sunday morning, the Baltimore County Police Department reported.

At 9:25 a.m., people walking through a wooded area near Owings Mills Boulevard at Gwynnbrook Avenue alerted police that they found what appeared to be a human skull, according to the report.

Police said other bones were found during the investigation, which is ongoing; detectives have not established whether the remains belong to a human or other animal, according to the report.

The remains will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and is under investigation by the Baltimore County Homicide Unit, officials said.
