New Town High School's football team was forced out of the Class 1A North Region's final after using an ineligible player all season.

At CCBC Essex Friday night, No. 1 Overlea trounced No. 3 Northwestern, 39-10, in the MPSSAA Class 1A North Region final.
The week before, Northwestern had seemingly been knocked out of the state playoffs .
But the Titans were not granted their rematch with Overlea, the only team to beat in 2011. Instead, the team was forced forfeit its entire season after it was learned .
