Registration Closing Soon For Owings Mills Track Club

Registration for the Owings Mills Track Club closes on Feb. 26. We offer certified coaches that teach and motivate kids to compete at a high level in all track & field events. Sprints, Middle Distance, Distance Running, Shot Put, Discus, Turbo Javelin, High Jump, Long Jump, and Triple Jump.

Time is running short to register for the 2017 season and we want to ensure that every child has an opportunity to sign up before we close out the process. We recognize that some of us are serial procrastinators, but please know that the last day to reserve a roster spot will be Feb. 24, 2017. Once our uniform order for this season is placed on that day, we won’t be able to accommodate any additional registrations.

Track and Field is one of the only sports where everything is objective. There are no "starters" and "benchwarmers" because all the kids compete as individuals in most events, but get to reap the benefit of being a part of the team dynamic. The athletes, parents, and coaches work together to find the events where the kids will be most competitive. Beyond that, the athletes and parents have to freedom to try new events every week should they choose to do so. Even team relay groups are chosen based on one criteria where the fastest four team members (based on past performances) earn the right to participate on a relay. There is no favoritism or politics involved, so that elimates any potential drama.

If your kids are good athletes, they will likely find an event that perfectly suits their skill set. There is no "year round" commitment and there is a limited hit to your budgets for travel. Unless (of course) you and your child decide to compete for a spot at the AAU National Junior Olympics. Much like the 44 All-American Track & Field athletes our team has produced over the last 3 years.

We are excited for the opportunity to work with all your amazing children again this year and we are also looking forward to welcoming some new faces to the OMTC track family. All the kids improved last year and we are looking forward to helping all of them reach their goals in 2017.
