Reisterstown Chick-fil-A Opening This Week

REISTERSTOWN, MD — The newest Chick-fil-A will open this week in Reisterstown, and it will bring dozens of jobs with it, according to restaurant officials.

More than 100 employees will be working for the Reisterstown Chick-fil-A, which opens on Thursday, Nov. 2.

A children's book drive for Franklin Elementary School coincides with the opening, and those who visit are encouraged to bring new and gently used books. Books collected during the grand opening will be put in a "Book House" donated by the Chick-fil-A Foundation for the school. The Book House is a nearly 3-foot-high structure constructed out of reclaimed wood.

The restaurant will also continue its tradition of having a giveaway for the first 100 people in line.

The first 100 adults through the doors will receive free Chick-fil-A for a year, which is one chicken sandwich meal a week for 52 weeks. To be one of the first 100 in line, people are invited to come to the restaurant between 5:30 and 6 a.m. the day before opening; in this case, people would arrive on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

The night before the opening on Thursday, Nov. 2, people may attend a family-friendly overnight party in the parking lot of the restaurant. The event is known as the "Chick-fil-A's First 100 celebration." See the rules for the "First 100" contest.

Chick-fil-A has more than 2,200 locations nationwide. Its first location in Maryland opened in 1980 in Eastpoint Mall. The Reisterstown restaurant will be its 79th in the Baltimore metro area.

The new Chick-fil-A will be at 12001 Reisterstown Road.
