REISTERSTOWN, MD — A crash that closed MD 140 during the morning rush hour was one of dozens of crashes in Baltimore County Monday, police said. The incidents piled up as snow accumulated in the region.
Police in Baltimore County were called to 51 crashes by 6 p.m. Monday, according to authorities.
MD 140 was closed between Glen Falls Road and Brian Daniels Court, state transportation officials reported at 7 a.m.

A car crashed into a utility pole in front of Full Moon Pub and Grill, according to WBAL, which was reporting at the crash scene.
The closure lasted more than five hours. By 12:45 p.m., state officials said the crash had cleared, and all lanes were open.

Hundreds of crashes were reported statewide during the two-day snowstorm, which is expected to carry over into the Tuesday morning commute.
Troopers in Maryland reported handling 470 crashes between 8 a.m. Sunday and 4 p.m. Monday.
Maryland State Police also responded to 216 disabled/unattended vehicles and 1,418 calls for service.
"Due to continuing weather event ... avoid travel or use extra caution if driving," police advised Monday night.
Reisterstown is under a winter weather advisory until 9 a.m. Tuesday along with northern Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Garrett and Harford counties. Up to 1 to 2 inches of snow is possible during the advisory period on top of already existing accumulation.
In Reisterstown, 6 inches of snow had fallen by 8 p.m. on Monday, Baltimore County emergency management reported to the National Weather Service.
Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions, which may impact the morning commute.
Pedestrians should watch their first few steps outside on driveways, stairs and sidewalks, due to icy and slippery conditions.
