Reisterstown Dash Cam Footage Under Review

Video taken on Franklin Boulevard reportedly caught police attention after it was posted on Facebook.

Authorities are investigating after a driver took to Facebook with personal dash cam footage showing a police car driving erratically in Reisterstown.

The Baltimore County police cruiser was getting onto Franklin Boulevard from Interstate 795, according to ABC 2 News, which posted the video online showing the marked police car drifting in and out of lanes.

According to the TV station, a shift commander is investigating.

Hours before the TV station posted the dash cam video, a Baltimore County police car crashed into an vehicle on Old Court Road amidst a chase that ended on Painters Mill Road at Red Run Boulevard, according to WBAL.

One person was ultimately taken into custody at the conclusion of the pursuit, which began when a driver fled a traffic stop and allegedly assaulted police, The Baltimore Sun reported.

During the chase, a police car turning from Old Court Road hit an SUV on Allenswood Road, and the woman inside was taken to Northwest Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to the newspaper.

The captain of the Franklin precinct, which includes Reisterstown, advises citizens to call 911 if they see something that seems amiss.

“Have you ever seen suspicious activity or people and thought: ‘I should call and report that to the police’? Well, you should,” says Capt. David Folderauer. “Please do not hesitate to call us.”
