Reisterstown Man Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Crash: Police

Howard County police said a Reisterstown man was behind the wheel in crash where pedestrian error was a contributing factor.

A Reisterstown man was driving north on US 1/Washington Boulevard in Elkridge Friday night when he fatally struck a pedestrian, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Vernon Edward Anderson, 47, of Elkridge, was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 8:21 p.m. on Friday, police reported.

Police said a 54-year-old Reisterstown man was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla north on Route 1 when his vehicle hit Anderson.

Based on preliminary investigation, police said pedestrian error was a factor in the crash.
