Reisterstown Man Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash: Police

Police said after a man was reported yelling in the road, he was found dead and may have been hit by not one but two vehicles.

REISTERSTOWN, MD — A Reisterstown man was killed in a hit-and-run crash, and authorities are asking for information from potential witnesses. Investigators said he may have been hit by two vehicles, neither of which remained at the scene.

Williard Eugene Scram, 67, of the 900 block of Shirley Manor Road, was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, police said.

At 3:41 p.m., officials said they were alerted to a man yelling in the street at Hammershire and Reisterstown roads. Within minutes police reported another call came in about a person lying in the road at the same location.

Officials said Scram had been next to the curb in the southbound lane of Hammershire Road when he was hit by a passenger car that continued driving south on Hammershire then west onto Reisterstown Road. Investigators are working to determine whether another vehicle hit him also, explaining why he was in the road in the first place.
