Reisterstown Man May Be Charged In Fatal I-83 Crash: Police
Charges are possible against a Reisterstown man who officials say hit a vehicle parked on the shoulder of Interstate 83, killing a boy.
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Police said a Reisterstown man may be charged after a crash on Interstate 83 Saturday that resulted in the death of a 7-year-old boy. Four others, including an infant, were hospitalized, officials reported.
William Blake, 20, of Reisterstown, was driving a Toyota Tacoma on I-83 south Saturday morning when he hit the back of a car stopped on the shoulder before the exit for Belfast Road, according to authorities.
Before 6:15 a.m. Saturday, police said a 30-year-old New York man had pulled his Dodge Dart onto the right shoulder of I-83 south to tend to a child in the backseat and as he opened the door to back, the car was hit by the truck.

Another driver passing by stopped to offer help and took the driver and his 7-year-old son to Greater Baltimore Medical Center, according to officials, who said the child was later taken to the Johns Hopkins Children's Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
Three others in the car — a 9-month-old infant and a 9-year-old girl in the backseat and a 30-year-old woman in the front seat — were taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins, where they are being treated for their injuries, officials said.

Blake did not report any injuries, according to Maryland State Police, whose troopers were dispatched to the crash after receiving multiple 911 calls.
Charges are pending the outcome of the crash investigation, police said.
