Reisterstown, Owings Mills Snow Totals: Blizzard 2016

Baltimore County gives timeframe for plowing, while one Reisterstown organization issues plea for help shoveling.

Reisterstown received between 26 and 32.1 inches of snow during the weekend blizzard, according to preliminary data from the National Weather Service.

State and county leaders are asking citizens to stay off the roads Sunday to allow plows to focus on their work.

“DPW expects to complete plowing of side streets NO EARLIER than 48 hours from now,” Baltimore County public safety officials reported at 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

“Because of the extremely difficult conditions and the need to rest our highway crews, it likely will take longer than 48 hours,” the report said. “We appreciate your patience as we deal with this historic storm.”

HELP NEEDED: The Baltimore Humane Society is asking for help shoveling. “If anyone is able to safely make it out to the shelter Sunday we need help shoveling! Our snow blower is on the fritz. Sunday’s forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of 30 degrees in Owings Mills and a low of 14 degrees.

The Monday forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies, a high of 34 and low of 28 degrees.

Temperatures will climb above freezing Tuesday, with a high of 42 degrees, a chance of showers and low of 32.
