Reisterstown Pharmacy Robber IDed Thanks To Citizen Tips: Police

Armed robbery suspect in Reisterstown was identified within a day of surveillance photos being released, Baltimore County police said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Tips from citizens led authorities to identify the suspect in the recent armed robbery of a pharmacy in Reisterstown, according to police. An Ellicott City man has been charged in the holdup.

Authorities released surveillance video on Friday from the robbery of Nature Care Pharmacy in the unit block of Main Street in Reisterstown that took place March 25.

In the robbery, a ponytailed man had pointed a gun at the clerk, ordered the employee to give him a variety of pharmaceuticals and then left in the direction of Village Center Road, police said.

Within one day of releasing the suspect's photo, police said numerous tips from citizens led them to arrest Timothy Smallwood, 48, of the 8700 block of Town and Country Boulevard in Ellicott City.

Smallwood has been charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, using a dangerous weapon with intent to injure and misdemeanor theft, police reported Tuesday. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

"The Baltimore County Police Department would like to thank all of the citizens who became involved by responding with tips, ultimately leading to the identification and arrest of this criminal," the Baltimore County Police Department said in a statement.
