Reisterstown Road To Be Addressed By Walmart: Councilman
Water on Reisterstown Road is being addressed thanks to state, local and Walmart officials, according to County Councilman Izzy Patoka.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — A water main break has made for slippery conditions along a busy stretch of road in Owings Mills. That is set to change — and fast — according to a councilman.
Councilman Izzy Patoka said he alerted the State Highway Administration there was a water main break in the area of the 9700 and 9800 block of Reisterstown Road after a community meeting last week, where the dangerous situation was brought to his attention.
Highway officials said the water main break came from a leaky pipe connected to the sprinkler system within the nearby Walmart.

Walmart is aiming to have the work completed Thursday, Patoka reported.
In the meantime, an administrative law judge in Baltimore County ordered Walmart to put down salt and post signs about the hazardous conditions in the area, the councilman reported. The judge also ordered the company to finish the work by Saturday, Dec. 21.

Temperatures are not going to be above freezing Thursday, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Owings Mills, so the water could turn to ice.
Patoka thanked the Baltimore County Department of Public Works, Walmart and State Highway Administration for helping to address what he called an "important quality-of-life issue."
Said Patoka: "This defines what partnership and collaboration is all about and shows what is possible when we all work together."
