Reisterstown Teen Charged In Home Invasion Murder

The Reisterstown teen shot in a home invasion has now been charged with murder, police said.

TOWSON, MD - A Reisterstown man has been charged in a deadly home invasion that happened this winter.

Omar Mydie Hamilton, 18, of the unit block of Deepspring Court in Reisterstown, was charged with first-degree murder and using a firearm in a felony crime. Police allege Hamilton shot and killed a man in a Landsowne apartment on Feb. 4 in an intended robbery and home invasion that went awry.

The victim—Larry Lynch, 28, of the 2900 block of Lakebrook Circle—was pronounced deceased inside an apartment in the 2900 block of Lakebrook Circle before 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 4, according to authorities.

When investigators were first reporting on the case, police described Hamilton as a "second victim" who was in serious condition as a result of the shooting.

After investigation, authorities determined that Hamilton was a suspect, shot by the victim in self-defense.

Police said there was another suspect involved, who allegedly left the scene and has not yet been identified as of Thursday, Sept. 14.

Hamilton is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to police.
