Reisterstown Woman Dies After September Crash: Police

Police said that the investigation into the deadly crash on Westminster Pike was ongoing.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A Reisterstown woman has died after a crash that happened more than two weeks ago, according to police. She rear-ended a vehicle on MD 140/Westminster Pike at Butler Road Monday, Sept. 30, officials said.

Mary Winifred Devol, 88, was driving her Chevrolet Cruz when she rear-ended a Dodge Ram stopped at a red light on Westminster Pike at Butler Road in the September crash, officials said.

Devol, of the 900 block of Shirley Manor Road, was taken from the crash to Sinai Hospital, where police said she died at 1:20 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17.

The medical examiner ruled her death was due to complications from the crash, police reported.

The Baltimore County Police Department's crash team was looking into the possibility that she may have suffered a medical emergency before the crash and was "furthering an investigation," officials said Thursday.
