Reisterstown Woman Sues Penn State For Sexual Harassment: Report
A Reisterstown resident says she was penalized for whistleblowing at Penn State, report says.

REISTERSTOWN, MD — A woman who now lives in Reisterstown has filed suit against Penn State University, where she worked until she retired early because of what she said were hostile and retaliatory working conditions, according to PennLive.com.
The woman rose through the ranks at the university over her 30-year career but was demoted in 2014 from her position of program coordinator to an entry-level job after filing a complaint about alleged sexual advances by a coworker, PennLive reported.

It is not the first time the university has made headlines for reportedly mishandling sex allegations. Penn State in 2016 was slapped with the largest fine the U.S. Department of Education has ever imposed on a university for failing to report sex crimes; it was ordered to pay $2.4 million.
A school-commissioned investigation by former FBI director Louis Freeh found that the university's president, senior vice president, athletic director and head football coach knew about suspected child abuse but failed to report it to the proper authorities in the case of Jerry Sandusky. The former defensive coordinator for Penn State football was convicted in 2012 on 45 counts of sexual abuse involving 10 boys between 1994 and 2009.
