Teen Dies In Stolen Car Crash In Reisterstown: Police

Three people were injured and one died in a crash Monday in Reisterstown, Baltimore County police reported.

REISTERSTOWN, MD —Authorities said that an 18-year-old died as the result of a crash Monday in Reisterstown involving a stolen vehicle. The crash happened on Highfalcon Road at Candytuft Road, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Taiwan X. Linton, 18, was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said. Police said he had been in a black Honda Accord that had been reported stolen.

Three juveniles — the driver and two other passengers in the stolen car — were taken to local hospitals for treatment, according to officials.

Police said that a Baltimore County officer on patrol pulled over the vehicle on Highfalcon Road at Meriam Court. The 2014 Accord been reported stolen in Baltimore County on Friday, Dec. 7, said authorities.

The officer conducted a traffic stop before 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, but police said as he got out to approach the car, the driver sped away.

Despite a brief chase, officials said the pursuit ended on Highfalcon Road when the driver would not stop.

The stolen Honda hit a parked 2004 Ford truck in the 300 block of Highfalcon Road and continued into a tree, according to police.

Authorities said three juveniles were taken to local hospitals for treatment, while Linton died at the scene.


PREVIOUS REPORT: Authorities said that two people were in critical condition Monday as the result of a crash in Reisterstown. The crash happened on Highfalcon Road at Candytuft Road, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Crews were called to the crash, which officials described as serious, at 4:02 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10.

Two people were in critical condition, while two others were also receiving care for minor injuries, the fire department reported. Rescuers remained at the scene after 4:30 p.m., authorities said.
